bigger. and better.

You knew it was coming.

A gentle reminder to join the fun from this post. And this post.

I mean, after all, I'm just giving away five $25 Amazon gift cards... who doesn't want a piece of that?

I do, that's who. Unfortunately, I think I might be slightly biased to my own ideas, so I'm not including myself in the drawing. I guess I'm just honest that way.

The upshot of all this fun craziness is that we have a constantly morphing, super-duper shopping list, created by you, me and Bobby McGee. Bobby, not really, but I think you know what I mean.

So, without further ado, I present our ever-growing shopping list for Christmas 2009...

Toddler (1.5 - 3 years) ideas:

Elementary (4 - 7 years) ideas:
Youth (8 - 12 years) ideas:
Young Adult (13 - 20 years) ideas:
Adult (hopefully self-explanatory) ideas:
*******************************************************

Here is our Mr. Linky, making his appearance again, so you guys can keep on adding to the chaos craziness list, at your leisure. I'll compose a weekly update of all your great ideas, so if you don't see your idea listed now, no worries, you will soon.

I'll choose a winner in each category sometime in early December... you know, when you really should be done Christmas shopping.

So until then, keep the ideas coming!

P.S. Don't forget that when you shop at Amazon.com to go through the Love Without Boundaries Amazon icon at the bottom of their homepage, or through this link at New Day Foster Home. That way LWB or New Day Foster Home receives a small portion of the proceeds of your purchase!

stephanie,
you posted a link to a new sn waiting children list a few weeks ago. i was wondering if you (or anyone else here) has any experience or info about the agency (a.a.c.). i requested info on 2 kids last week and i still haven't heard back from them. it's quite a small agency (they said they have 4 5 office workers). any recommendations? or info? ajkanschmidt(at)yahoo.com

that should have been 4-5 office workers, not 45!!

Hi Stephanie!
Hope I am doing this right... I listed the link for Scribblenauts which you can buy at Amazon and other places too. It is for the youth category and basically it is a nintendo ds game where you problem solve through the game with your imagination and spelling. Let's say your character gets his ball stuck in the tree. Your kid decides a ladder will help him get it back, he spells the word 'ladder' and up one pops on the screen and the character can retrieve his ball. Your kid could have wrote "rock' and then thrown it to knock his ball out of the tree. You can pick anything and if you can spell it they put it into the game! Its about imagination, problem solving and spelling! A moms dream video game!

Finally, Scarlet Threads is letting us shout from the rooftops about the aprons made by woman in rural China. They are adorable, and a great Christmas gift idea. I posted on my website and added the link to yours,,, I guess this would be an adult gift, could work for young adult as well. Happy Shopping everyone.. I love Christmas!

OK, this has been so much fun to follow, I decided to link up (properly this time) and throw in a couple of suggestions. The games (Settlers of Catan, Killer Bunnies) would work for 8 - young adult (seriously, we ALL like them), as would the Casting Crowns CD (we all like them too). The Kindle, I would think best for adults. Oh - and I forgot to add on the blog, but I'll just mention it here - for 10 and up - Guitar Praise. I've been wanting it since last Christmas and I'm thinking I might break down this year!

Thanks for getting me thinking about ideas, Stephanie!

I found some gorgeous handmilled soaps in the under $10 range perfect for a teacher or co-worker, from Raven & Lily, a non-profit working to empower impoverished women through design. Love their stuff!

I am already on Mr. Linky at #15, so I won't hog another spot....but I just found the greatest thing for my boys....in fact, I'm not sure yet who I'm going to give it to yet. I just know that one of my older boys will love it.
THey are called Piano Fingers and I found them online at JCPenney. This way, they can "play" the piano wherever they want. You have to check out the video to fully appreciate.

ok, I've been trying to think of what people have loved in the past and I'd have to say that Grandparents l.o.v.e photobooks! I made one this year for my parents...black cover and pages...black and white photos and a couple color ones thrown in for that special "pop"! Can't wait to give it to them...it turned out great! What else do you give people that have everything? Pick any size too, smaller ones can be carried with you!

Okay, I just left my post on Mr. Linky, but not sure how to get things in age ranges. Just leave it here?
The kitchen and Dora Book are for a girl, age 3
The boy ideas are for boys ages 7 and 13!
Great thoughts! I love looking at everyone's ideas. I would be interested in learning more about Christmas traditions as well... especially in keeping Christ in Christmas. Joy

Keep meaning to share - a great "first game" - good for a 3-year-old, but one that we all like playing - Silly Faces - it's a Colorform game - spin the spinner and pick the piece to create your "face" - the first one with a completed face wins. No reading required. I've seen it at Amazon and teacher supply stores recently - Toys R Us used to carry it, but I haven't seen it there in some time.
